Greenpeace Design Awards – Call For Entries

Greenpeace, the renowned independent campaigning organization, fights to expose global enviromental problems. They've utilised the instruments of visual communication to reveal irritating facts about the abuse of our limited natural resources throughout their history.

Greenpeace Australia and UniLife Inc. in association with the University of South Australia now host the Greenpeace Design Awards in recognition of the strong role design as a medium of activsm has played in the nearly countless list of Greenpeace actions. The aim of the award is to encourage the global community of creatives

… to take action on critical enviromental issues.
The focus is set on the poster as a historical medium which is inextricably linked with cause-related campaigns.
The brief is to design a poster that delivers the message ‘Be a Part of the Action’ – this does not necessarily have to be expressed in words. The poster could bear witness to catastrophic environmental damage and in doing so, cause outrage. Alternatively the poster could actively encourage peaceful protest to expose an environmental problem.
Up to three different submissions can be made between March 1st and June 15th, 2009. For further information visit www.greenpeacedesignawards.org.au/.
